Who We Are

The Infrastructure Professionals Association (IPA) is a not-for-profit organization that seeks to connect, educate, and influence across all aspects of the infrastructure industry in Alberta, Canada, and beyond!

Our membership are involved in the government (federal, provincial, and municipal), real estate, construction, engineering and financial sectors of public and private infrastructure.

As organizers, we are a small team of local professionals with a wide range of skills and experience in the infrastructure sector.

We love what we do, and we do it with passion. We look forward to seeing you at our next event!

Bill Woodhead

Lawyer at Borden Ladner Gervais LLP.

Bill is a partner in the Corporate Commercial, Construction and Public-Private Infrastructure Projects Groups of Borden Ladner Gervais LLP’s Calgary and Vancouver offices. Bill practices in the areas of public-private partnerships, construction contracts (negotiation, drafting, and review), industrial Engineering, Procurement, and Construction contracts and generally contracts to design or construct any asset. He has acted on various large infrastructure projects including the Valley Line LRT in Edmonton, AB, the Okanagan Correction Centre in Oliver, BC and the John Hart Generating Station Replacement Project in Campbell River, BC.

Jordan Pinkster

Senior Consultant at Global Public Affairs

Jordan Pinkster is a Senior Consultant supporting Global’s Alberta clients in the areas of health and life sciences, cannabis, transportation and infrastructure, as well as arts and culture. Prior to Global, Jordan worked as the Chief of Staff for a member of Calgary City Council and has a wealth of experience in Calgary municipal politics. Jordan has been an active with the Bow River Chapter of Trout Unlimited Canada working on important conservation projects. He also teams up with his dog Charlie to volunteer with the Pet Access League Society (PALS) where they provide regular pet therapy to enhance the lives of Calgarians through the human-animal bond. Jordan holds a Bachelor of Arts in Policy Studies from Mount Royal University.

Jillian Beaton

Vice President, EY Infrastructure Advisory Team

Jillian has worked on major infrastructure projects such as the Green Line LRT in Calgary, the Valley Line LRT in Edmonton, and the Cross River Rail in Brisbane, Australia. In Fall 2018, she led the EY team that acted as financial advisor to The City of Calgary on the opportunity to host the 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. Outside of the office Jillian is active in the Crossfit community, and serves as Treasurer for DirectHer Network.

John Bunting

Business Development Manager at PCL Construction

As a Business Development professional at PCL Construction, John enjoys connecting great teams with great clients. Within the business community, John believes we are all advocates for the great work our industry is doing to build complex projects on time and on budget, while advancing collaborative delivery methods, technology, and sustainability. John loves being a part of the growth in Calgary and southern Alberta; he finds it exciting to see so many engaging projects develop to create vibrant communities.

Ryan Legere

Business Development & Capture Manager at SNC-Lavalin

Ryan is a business development and capture manager at SNC-Lavalin. He has previously held senior execution roles on the Confederation Line Light Rail Project in Ottawa, the Calgary West LRT Extension and Edmonton’s Metro Line Extension (Downtown to NAIT).  In his current role, Ryan is actively pursuing several major projects across Western North America.

Asif Kurji

Senior Executive Advisor to the CEO and COO of Green Line. 

Asif helps deliver the Green Line vision and its commitment to Council Priorities. Asif provides strategic advice to the leadership team including Council reporting, cross-corporate activities and liaising other orders of governments. 

Formally with Calgary Transit, Asif lead a team of transit planning, engineering, strategy and policy, and business intelligence professionals to design and implement Calgary’s public transit network including supporting the 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games the Calgary regions bus and rail network.
